the vagina monologues with monique wilson, lily chu, and lynn sherman was fun! it was my first time to see this popular "show" and i was not disappointed. my friends and i bought the cheapest tickets because it was what we can only afford (poor us) BUT as soon as the lights went out to start the show, the people at the back (including us) started to occupy the empty seats in front hehehe
girls, have you really examined your vaginas/cunts/pussies? or practiced your moans? i have seen the illustration of the female reproductive system as well as the other women's vajayjay during deliveries but i haven't really looked down there. practicing moans?maybe i will so i'll know what i'll look and sound like.... eeek!
cheers for lynn sherman for giving the greatest performance. she performed the ultimate triple orgasm with all types of moans combined... she even beat meg ryan's fake orgasm performance in when harry met sally (in my opinion)
after the show...
that's it pansit.

i started volunteer duty (volunteer duty = no salary/allowance) at the west visayas state university medical center last november 19. at that time, i thought it would be a good way to do something productive with my life. it was productive all right, but my feet are killing me and i miss my bed buhuhuhu
anyhoo, everyday is an exciting day at the hospital, especially at the floor i'm working on. Private rooms usually equates to impatient and nosy patients/folks, but not always (if you're lucky). I'm having fun preparing IV medications and doing nursing procedures hehehe the first few weeks were hectic for us newbies. Most of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I'm lucky to be a part of
had a chance to meet up with melai before she went to banate and boracay. i wasn't able to go with them because i was going to start my volunteer duty. we were giggling like high school girls reminiscing and making chikateehee and look at those faces! we don't look a day older than, uhmm, 23? hehehe

i promised sarah i'd post a longer entry on passing the nclex-rn exam, so here goes...
the letter arrived after 13 business days from the date it was written...almost 33 days from the time i took the actual exam. i was on duty the day it arrived and my mom decided not to tell me because she knew i wouldn't be able to concentrate on my work if i learned about the letter.
my friends (who also took the exam) and i went out for snacks after my duty because we were all feeling the pressure and anxiety over the long-awaited results. my mom and brother were calling me to ask what time i was coming home and i didn't put too much thought on this because i assumed they were worried i won't be able to come home because of the heavy rain. it was almost 7 pm when we parted and i decided to visit the adoration chapel to pray for strength and guidance.
when i arrived home, i instantly felt the tension. they were all too quiet. my brother then tossed the letter to me and when i saw it was a small envelope from california, i was smiling from ear to ear. a bigger envelope usually means bad news.
so i tore it open, read the body of the letter (only the first sentence), then jumped up and down like a kangaroo hehehe it was such a high!
my mother burst into tears because she was tense the whole day fearing the worst lol
two of my friends didn't pass and the other one is still waiting for her envelope to arrive. talk about torture.
i hope the retrogression will be lifted soon...i can't wait to work and live with my sister!
I just finished watching this movie five minutes ago. It's a 2003 romantic comedy movie with a gorgeous cast and a plot revolving around these themes:
love is elementary
love unspoken
love at work
love and politics
love lasts a lifetime
love as a second language
love rocks on
arrival airport gates are way better than the departure gates.
The juliet-mark, sarah-karl, and harry-karen love stories were sad. I can so relate to mark when he said "it's called self-preservation", an answer to juliet's "but you never liked me".
There were a lot of cute scenes but i must say a hidden sarah silently saying "YES!" while karl was just behind an adjacent wall was funny. I hope and pray i won't become like sarah who had to choose her duty and love of her psychologically ill brother over a hot guy she's clearly crazy about or like karen when she confronts the reality that her husband is having/going to have an affair. It's so sad...
The music Love is all around brings back Four Weddings and a Funeral memories...hello high school and Hugh Grant! Hugh Grant never fails to make my heart flutter with his British accent and rumpled-puppy-eyed-look. And he's a good dancer *deadpan expression*
No regrets buying the PhP75.00 CD hehehe in fact i'm gonna buy the OST for this movie...ay, i'll download na lg, free pa! lol
manila was fun, chaotic, fattening and expensive lol i'm such a miser. i just can't get over the restaurant prices. i mean 65 pesos for an iced tea?? damn...
we were at glorietta the night before the bombing so it was just plain luck that we weren't in the vicinity the next day because we decided to go to greenhills instead. manila was scary. the taxi drivers even scarier.
and oh, blooper:
taxi driver: saan banda kayo sa santillian? maggie: basta sa st. illian's inn taxi driver: anong baranggay ba yun? maggie: eh ba't hindi mo alam taxi driver: ...
along santillian street
taxi driver: kakanan ba o kakaliwa? me: hanapin lg natin yung st. illian's inn...we trust you manong! my companions: *guffaws* *snickers*
taxi driver hindi na nakapagsalita hahahahaha
oh the drama before and during the manila escapade...first there was the last-minute decision of two of our kabarkadas to join the manila trip, find-the-hotel-that-could-accomodate-all-of-us panic, them being late and taking the last flight, them going to a cousin's condo instead of staying w/ us in the hotel, bitchy dialogs between two "best friends" over conti's menu, taking a picture of KC concepcion (she's so gwapa, buot, kinis and THIN) and maggie (a kabarkada) and then refusing KC's offer to have a picture with her(hahaha shit, can i say STARSTRUCK?), moving to another hotel to cut on expenses, and EK mending all our barkada's squabbles and differences...
too bad the space shuttle kinda bonked out...we were like the next batch(or second) to ride it. it was another blessing in disguise because i was having second thoughts riding the damn thing....i mean hello??

nclex results will be snail mailed after a month. i don't know how i did. i was pretty confident i did good early in the exam and was expecting the exam to stop at 75. but it didn't stop until question #126, so i don't know. it's CAT (computer adaptive test) so the number of questions doesn't say whether you pass or fail. passing depends on the test taker's performance and if the results are maintained above the passing line in the graph.
plans to meet w/ friends and classmates never materialized because of the schedule, the bombing, and me unfamiliar with the city. too little time, too many things to do.
i did meet aimee, fellow komsai, at trident tower because she was with her sister and brother-in-law who were also taking the test.
iloilo is safe. but i could get used to manila hehehe
i was referred by my college classmate to this new social networking site that pays you everytime your page (and up to the 10th degree friend's page) is viewed...best of all, registration is free!
How much you can make... We can't say exactly how much, but here's an example of what could happen. The chart below assumes you refer 3people, and those 3 people refer 3, then those refer 3, through 10 levels, and each referral gets 1000 page views for the month, and the month's RSR is $0.50.
Sounds easy, so why not try it? If everyone simply refers 3 people to Yuwie and actively encourages their downline to do the same...then we can stand to make some decent money here.
Normally only around 10% to 20% of your referral tree member will actively use Yuwie. Why? Because most people like the concept of making money but precious few will do what it takes to have as much as they want. But don’t worry if 10% will use, you will still earn $1,000.00 monthly….. not bad, isn’t it?
What is counted as page view? --- those pages you view for at least 3seconds before going to another page.
------- Getting Paid - Non US Citizens - This needs to be done!!!
You need to go in to the account settings then click on Tax Information, then click on I am not a Us citizen. Link - https://secure.yuwie.com/members/settings/notus.asp
Once on this page you can fill out the form to say that you are nothing to do with the US and that no part of the money that you make from Yuwie is anything to do with the US.
Once you have filled out this page you can be paid by yuwie as soon as you make the minimum amount of $50. Its easy!
i was in tears because i can't get the ant off my ear and the pain was excruciating. i poured some baby oil in my ear so that the ant will be killed but it didn't work...panicking, my parents rushed me to the nearest hospital (iloilo mission hospital) but surprise, surprise, they had to refer us to another hospital because they don't have the necessary equipment for EENT cases...WTF!
the whole time i can feel the ant moving and biting. this would be the first on my list of painful ways to die.
on the second hospital, the resident had to flush/irrigate my ear until the damn ant came off. now i'm temporarily and partially deaf on my left ear.
moral of the story:
don't rush to iloilo mission hospital for EENT cases. go to st. paul's hospital instead. and oh, put on some earplugs before you sleep so that insects won't crawl inside your ears. in case it happens, pull your pinna(upper ear segment) up and back for adults; for kids aged less than 8, pull pinna down and back, and then pour enough baby oil to kill the insect.
i hate red ants. i always wake up with their bites. they're under my pillow, my comforter, under my bed. i tried sleeping at my parent's bed last night. guess what? the damn ants still bit me until i woke up (true it's already past noon, but hey i need my sleep)! tsk tsk
ever since my lola died two years ago, we always associate ants (black) with her. when her favorite apo came home for the burial, she said there were black ants near her plane seat. when my brother(the favorite apo's fraternal twin) had a heart attack, black ants were also found at the ER bed he was lying in. everytime somebody is sick, worried, or in dire circumstance, the black ants' presence will comfort them in thinking lola is watching over them.
could it be my lola telling me in her own way "hija, bugtaw na. lapit na lg exam mo, tama na na nga tulog." ?
lola ha, nag change color ka na gle? daw hair dye ba. easy on the bites, ok?
DECO's lapaz batchoy has reopened here in iloilo city. it is (supposedly) the original lapaz batchoyan. Ted's and Nat's only followed. How come these batchoyans are named after guys? Why isn't there Inday's Lapaz batchoy, Milagrosa's Lapaz batchoy, etc?
Anyways, we sampled the "original" batchoy with puto and pre-war pandesal(those very small, almost-crumpled yet oh-so-tasty pandesal). It was the first time i finished my bowl of batchoy so i guess deco's batchoy is really good...or it might be because i was too hungry...do you know the "secret ingredient" for a great-tasting batchoy? it's a virgin's used panty soaked in the caldo hahaha that's according to my mom who got it from a relative chuva
Guess what else i discovered today? decos' was being financed by mang inasal (40-60) for its reopening. Apparently, ted's was serving rice, chicken, and barbecue aside from batchoy so mang inasal, in the spirit of competition and increasing their profit, thought of being business partners w/ deco's. So don't be surprised when the table next to you have customers eating rice, pork bbq, and batchoy. me, i find it gross. one bowl of batchoy is more than enough, i usually can't finish it. they must be really REALLY hungry.
after eating batchoy we went grocery shopping. MAYA's oven toaster fudge brownies were on sale at the grocery store so we bought two boxes. In my opinion, the MAYA brand has the best and tastiest (hotcake) mix so it follows that all their mixes should be tasty too. it is. even with the top burnt, the fudge brownie was very sweet and tasty yum yum.
------ my eight year old niece has two male hamsters. father and son only survived after mama hamster died from abdominal aneurysm (or cannibalism) and brother and sister hamsters were too weak to live. a few hours ago, i had to rescue papa hamster from his son because HIS SON was eating him. ALIVE. damn, if you only saw how papa hamster tried to get away tsk tsk his eyes were bitten and also parts of his face. we had to separate the two. i'm betting papa hamster won't last 'til friday....he's too old, getting weak and all that accumulated sperm cells must've damaged his prostate too teehee
survival of the fittest.

when i woke up, papa hamster was already dead and buried.

bilatibay-ya! it was Murphy's law at its best...i had to buy a USB LAN because i thought the PCI slots of my motherboard were broken...when i installed the USB LAN card, the windows wizard was looking for the driver (the driver installer was conspicuously slipped under the package..i discovered this 5 hrs AFTER i bought the frigging LAN card) and i panicked because i don't have it (no LAN = no DSL = cannot download driver)...genius me thought it best to reformat my pc to see if it'll solve the problem w/ the old LAN card (it didn't).....all the time i was reformating my pc i was praying the results won't come out until i'd be finally online....
when i did go online, the site was lagged!! it took forever for the page to load...hahah seeing my name all nice and pretty in the roll of successful examinees was all worth it though teehee

i went to support an organizer friend's speed dating event last night (yes, speed dating is here in iloilo city!). It was the weirdest 40 minutes of my life hehe
date#1 was awkward and shy...date # 2 was ok....date#3 so-so....date#4 CUTEY!...date#5 familiar (we're friends)...date#6 nerd alert!.....date#7 another gwapo....date#8 can you say DOTA?
it was supposed to be a yuppie speed dating event but due to the overwhelming unrsponsiveness of the ilonggo yuppies, the event turned to as-long-as-you're-18-and -above speed dating event... technically, i was the oldest in the group (i just turned 27 last tues)...the good news was every "date" thought i was only 18 hah!
although i did not meet the man of my dreams last night, i had fun =)

We've finally scheduled our NCLEX exam last week for September 15, 2007 @ HK. Two months to go! man, i'm nervous =(
---------
what the....
NCSBN will begin NCLEX testing in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, at the international Pearson Professional Center on Aug. 23, 2007. Scheduling for examination appointments will begin on July 13, 2007.
I've always loved the month of July. There are so many happy "happenings" occurring during this month. There's my birthday (24), my bro's birthday (28), pisay foundation day (1), and the start of the monsoon season in the philippines aka hakutanay gamit sa balay kay mabaha naman! hahaha
Our batchmate and class artihan, Jun Ryan Orbina, was the guest speaker during the foundation day. It was imperative that we attend and give our mor(l)al(r) support to him.
Jun's speech was very inspiring. It was about EXCELLENCE and how INNOVATION can help the country. It was so inspiring I was guilt-stricken. You see, we were graduates of the premiere science school in the country. As graduates, we were required to, not only pursue a science degree, but also improve/advance science and technology in the country. Well, most (if not all) of us graduated from a science degree but not all of us became scientists (like jun). Why was i guilt-stricken? Because even though i knew what was expected of me as a pisay scholar and graduate, I became a nurse(w/ a BS com sci degree, just to be clear). Instead of helping develop and advance the country's science and technology, I'm doing everything i can to get out of the country and serve foreigners. Maam Sunico, our former Filipino teacher, and I were chatting in YM when i told her about this. She told me, "do not worry about not serving as of now. damo man paagi maka serve, maabot gd na =)"
Anyhoo, it was always fun going back to pisay. Some of our former teachers are still teaching there. They look the same + some white hair here and there. We were still recognized by the manongs and manangs. The dilapidated bus still sits on the parking lot gathering more rust.
When we arrived, we were invited to the director's office for coffee and chitchat. After the opening ceremony, we went back to the office for some snacks and to view the school's presentation to the Pfizer people. As usual, Dr. Biyo was at her best. She's the driving force in gathering and convincing sponsors to help the school and the students.
-----
Our high school experience was very different from those from other schools. Aside from the fact that we were trained higher science and mathematics, my batchmates and i were brought up like brothers and sisters. We were soooo innocent. We didn't cheat, smoke, drink, do drugs, have girl-boy/boy-boy/girl-girl relationships. We were the perfect and favorite batch. syempre, pioneer batch! I remember we had to import dates for our J prom! lol
i had to retake tests 3 & 5 of the phil. nursing licensure exam yesterday. you see, the june 2006 PNLE was tainted with the leakage issue and CGFNS issued the order to retake the 2 parts for them to assess the US visa screen applications of the june 2006 passers.
some might say just take the exam to clear everything but do they understand the physical, mental, monetary, and psychological stress of retaking the exam all over again?
the exam yesterday was a real surprise. bravo to the BON! *insert sarcasm here*
the usually difficult med-surg(test 3) was surprisingly easy, but the psych exam...there.are.no.words.
but let me try.... it was tricky, it was HARD (or challenging for others), it was different, it was LIGHTNING! tangina naman, why do we always have to be the lab rats? where can you see a psych exam with questions about RESEARCH??? for pete's sake, they changed the format from integrated to comprehensive(per subj) starting last year! ano ba yan...our mind set was on medical-surgical and psych tpos...syet, what a curve-ball....
a fellow retaker (from st pauls) even puked in the middle of the psych exam because of too much stress and nerves.
oh well, im just for hoping and praying for the best now...
I love watching movies. You could lock me in a comfortable room with a large screen TV and DVD, a fridge stocked with food, lots of pillows, and all the dvd movies available (or maybe a library of books, especially romance). I won't complain, at all. Bring it on! hehehe
See....I can't type without a "hehehe" attached in sentence/phrase even in YM or my email. And I just noticed my penchant with the exclamation point. my gulay.
i saw this in another blog, tried it, and had a good laugh ;p
Go to Google and search " /your name/ likes to" (ex. "Fred likes to"). Include the quotation marks. Type in the first ten things that come out.

This was the title of one of the stories in my 2nd grade english book. The story was about a little girl named amalia who had two personalities. At home she was this sullen, spoiled, bitchy kid but in school she was this sweet little angel who wants to please everybody. Kinda like me! hahaha I was just eight years old at that time but i KNEW i was exactly like amalia. i still am. heaven help me, i just can't help it.
Anyways, this is my current favorite photo...who else but me!
Call me narcissistic but i just love how my arms look here! hehehe
My second favorite photo is with my good friend gena. It's so us!
i've always been fascinated with the number eight. my reasons are personal: both my first and last names have a total of eight letters; i was born on the 24th day july so 2 x 4 = 8, plus my birth year is 1980 so 1+9+8+0=18=1 x 8=8 (notice how i manipulate the numbers so it will result to 8); i am drawn to the eternity sign(after watching the movie fluke) and i just love the number.
i've had 8 fabulous lovers....KIDDING! haha more like zero.
why write about it on my first post? i dunno, i just feel like it. *tongue in cheek*
