hello, 2011!

Finally! I got a job after four years from graduation and almost 2 years of hospital volunteer service (that's a nurse's reality in the Philippines today).

I'm a little overwhelmed with the work and responsibilities involved, but i kinda like it. Research, database management, encoding, following-up cases, coordinating with youth orgs are just some of the things I will be involved in. It's a new "side" of nursing....more on advocacy and research on birth defects (babies+genetics).

I guess my background in a science high school and my other college degree won't go to waste after all ;p

My mind flashed back to a time we were fighting over my crayons. I wouldn't let her have any of them, and she went and tattled to Mom. Mom said I had to give her at least one so I gave her white.

I waited for her to figure out what I had done while I silently busted a gut and applauded my evil genius. But she had walked off contentedly and sat down at her white piece of paper to draw me a picture of sugar, salt, and snow.

I've read The Cement Garden before reading this book. Sad and kinda sick. I was more entertained by this book, though.

Makes me appreciate my family more so than before.
